Liss Ard Estate went through renovations that have been requiring deep thinking about sustainable solutions to deliver well performing energy environment. Its privileged location in the heart of West Cork, where nature sets the pace and its well preserved biodiversity on the 163 acres with large mature trees planted in the early 20th century makes it a protected area.
The second owner of the Estate, John and Mary-Ellen Connolly developed a walled garden, growing edibles, vegetables and flowers who have been preserved as the Chef’s garden for our restaurant. We have also a locavore approach and use only local producers.
Guided tours of our Estate are possible with our expert in Biodiversity Paul Carlos, our horticulturist, all along the year.
